Adam Kane was born in Burbank, California. A graduate of New York University and the American Film Institute's MFA program, Kane has worked steadily as a cinematographer in film and television since the 1990s, with credits including films like The Boondock Saints (1999, starring Carlo Rota and Kevin Chapman) and Shanghai Red (with Richard Burgi).
Kane has also worked as a cinematographer in shows like Grey's Anatomy (2005, with Tom Choi and F.J. Rio), Reunion (with Tom Irwin), and Heroes (2006, with Omid Abtahi). In 2007, he started working as a television director, working on episodes of Pushing Daisies, Heroes, The Mentalist, Being Human, and Touch (starring Kiefer Sutherland), among others.
