Aerial drone
From Wiki 24
Aerial drones, specifically the RQ-2 series aerial drones, are unmanned flight vehicles capable of carrying explosive payloads, including nuclear devices. It has a maximum speed of approximately 400 miles per hour and is resistant to radar. When loaded with nuclear devices, the optimal detonation altitude is 500 feet above sea level. In addition, the drone needs 500 feet of runway to land.
[edit] Day 6
At 4:31pm, Yuli and an accomplice delivered a stolen aerial drone to Dmitri Gredenko and his fellow terrorist cell members. They then outfitted the drone with the components of a suitcase nuclear device as part of a deal with Abu Fayed, a Muslim extremist.
Later, after the preparations were completed at about 7:05pm, Gredenko's programmer Victor launched drone number 0709 with San Francisco as his target. Just prior to 7:34pm, CTU discovered the target and Victor's location at 1530 Hillcrest. Jack Bauer injured Victor and stopped the drone from detonating, and crash-landed it in an industrial park on the outskirts of the city.
[edit] Background information and notes
- These drones are similar to the American UAV RQ-4 Global Hawk in design but are much smaller.
