At 2:00 PM, Senator David Palmer arrived at CTU Los Angeles to speak with Agent Jack Bauer, the man he believed wanted him assassinated. Ryan Chappelle from District didn't want David Palmer in the same room as Jack and tried to stall David by saying he needs clearance first. But after waiting, David called Alan at the Pentagon and told him of the situation. Alan said he would take care of it and a minute later called Chappelle, instructing him to give Palmer carte blanche.
