Originally from South Boston, Alexandra studied at the Tisch School of the Arts and Stella Adler Conversatory in New York, graduating with a dual degree in Drama and Psychology from New York University. She also studied Classical Acting at The National Theatre in London.

She has dual citizenship in Ireland and the United States.
