Appell was an agent at CTU Los Angeles during Day 2.

Appell was at CTU when anti-government American terrorists working for Joseph Wald hid three bombs there. He died when they exploded along with 29 others at 10:57am.

The deaths of Appell and Ivers were brought up by Tony Almeida to George Mason shortly after noon. Others killed by the bomb included Paula Schaeffer and Clark.
