Aunt Carol was a sister of Teri Bauer. She lived in San Jose, about five hours outside of Los Angeles.

Jack told Kim go to her Aunt Carol's after he learned there was a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles. Due to her determination to rescue her young charge Megan Matheson and her boyfriend Miguel, Kim ended up back at CTU instead.

Kim continued to try to reach her aunt's home during the day, telling Lonnie McRae that she wanted to be with family, and a friendly motorist that she was hitchhiking to her aunt's house after a bad date.
