Bahar Soomekh

Bahar Soomekh (born March 30, 1975; age 49) was filmed as Hessa Marwan during the production of Season 4 of 24. However, her scene was deleted.

Biography and career

Bahar Soomekh was born in Tehran, Iran to a Persian Jewish family. Her parents owned a women's high fashion company. In 1979, she moved to Los Angeles to escape the Iranian Revolution. She attended Sinai Akiba Academy and Beverly Hills High School, where she played the violin in the school orchestra. Soomekh then majored in environmental studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Soomekh began working at a corporate job, while taking acting classes at night. Eventually, she quitted her job to pursue a full-time acting career. Her first acting role was in 2002, on an episode of Without a Trace (with Maz Jobrani and Dariush Kashani). After that, she has appeared in shows like JAG (with John Prosky), Bones (with T.J. Thyne, Jose Zuniga, and Said Faraj), In Justice (with Marisol Nichols and Tim Guinee), The Unit (with Dennis Haysbert, Max Martini, Michael Irby, and Kavita Patil), Castle (with Stana Katic), and Perception (with Christina Cox). She also had a recurring role on Day Break (with Ian Anthony Dale) from 2006 to 2007.

Aside of TV, Soomekh has also appeared in several films. Her first big break was on the 2004 film Crash (with Karina Arroyave and Daniel Dae Kim). The next year, she appeared on Syriana (with Alexander Siddig). Soomekh also had a role on two films of the Saw franchise. Saw III in 2006, and Saw IV in 2007. Both films star Tobin Bell.

Soomekh is currently working as a real estate agent for Nourmand & Associates. Her specialty is the luxury market in Hollywood and Malibu.

Role on 24

Bahar Soomekh filmed a scene as Hessa Marwan during Season 4. Hessa was the wife of terrorist Habib Marwan (played by Arnold Vosloo), the lead antagonist of the season. However, her scene was deleted by director and producer Jon Cassar because he did not feel it was good for the audience to sympathize with the terrorist. This scene was Cassar's favorite deleted scene from that season.
