Bob Gunton played Ethan Kanin during Season 6, 24: Redemption, and Season 7 of 24.

Gunton also has a long filmography of film and TV appearances, notably his recurring appearance on Desperate Housewives. He is best known for his role as the sardonic Warden Norton in The Shawshank Redemption, in which he costarred with Jude Ciccolella, Mark Rolston, Gil Bellows, and Paul McCrane. He also played the role of a judge in the 2007 film Fracture, which featured fellow 24 actors Xander Berkeley, Billy Burke, Gonzalo Menendez, Michael Khmurov, Yorgo Constantine, and Alla Korot. He also starred with Brian Goodman in Scenes of the Crime. He is also well known to theater audiences as originating the role of Juan Peron in Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical Evita on Broadway.

He also played the role as Benjamin Maxwell, a Starfleet captain; in Star Trek: The Next Generation, joining a list of Trek alumni who has received a role in at least one episode in the Star Trek franchise.
