Brody was one of the passengers on the train in the Santa Clarita Valley, bound for Los Angeles, at the start of Day 4.

He was a courier McLennan-Forster (a defense contractor), escorted by one armed guard, who had the Dobson Override handcuffed to his wrist. When the train was wrecked, the terrorist Dar murdered Brody, stole the briefcase, and delivered it to Navi Araz. A few hours later, Erin Driscoll and the CTU staff pondered why Brody was the only person at the crash who was shot and whom they could not identify. The implications of the device stolen from his wrist were then discussed with McLennan-Forster executive John Reiss, and CTU discovered how the terrorist plots tied together.
