California was a state located on the west coast of the United States of America. The city of Los Angeles, California was home to one of the most active domestic units of the Counter Terrorist Unit. Domestic units were also located in San Diego and San Francisco.

Day 1[]

California was one of eleven U.S. states holding their presidential primary this day. Maryland Senator David Palmer won all eleven states for the Democratic Party, defeating Governor Mike Hodges. Palmer was in Los Angeles campaigning when two attempts on his life were diverted by Jack Bauer and CTU.

Day 2[]

During the events of Day 2, a nuclear weapon was detonated in the Mojave Desert in California.

Day 3[]

During Day 3, California had to deal with the very real possibility that a killer virus could be released into the general population.

Day 4[]

One of the only nuclear power stations to ever melt down was the San Gabriel Island Nuclear Plant which melted down during the events of Day 4. During that day, Air Force One crashed in the state, critically injuring President John Keeler.

Day 5[]

California played host to the monumental signing of an anti-terrorism treaty by US President Charles Logan and Russian President Yuri Suvarov. However, the signing was belittled by a hostage situation that occurred at Ontario Airport, as well as the stealing of twenty canisters of Sentox nerve gas.

Day 6[]

A Suitcase nuclear device was detonated by terrorists loyal to Abu Fayed in Valencia, killing at least 12,000 people.
