Carol was a sister of Teri Bauer. She lived in San Jose, about five hours outside of Los Angeles.
Day 2
Jack told Kim go to her Aunt Carol's after he learned there was a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles. Due to her determination to rescue her young charge Megan Matheson and her boyfriend Miguel, Kim ended up back at CTU instead. ("8:00am-9:00am", "7:00am-8:00am")
Kim continued to try to reach her aunt's home during the day, telling Lonnie McRae that she wanted to be with family, and a friendly motorist that she was hitchhiking to her aunt's house after a bad date. ("8:00pm-9:00pm", "10:00pm-11:00pm")
Tony Almeida spoke with Sgt. Griggs of the San Jose sheriff's department, and arranged for an officer to travel to Carol's house to meet up with Kim. After Jack returned from the Mojave Desert, Tony updated Jack about this at about 11:23pm. They would soon learn that Kim was interrupted on her journey to Carol's by a dangerous situation at King's Liquor. ("11:00pm-12:00am")
