Caryn Mower (born August 21, 1965; age 51) is a stunt performer and actress who played a female hostage during Season 8. Mower is also a former professional wrestler with Ultimate Pro Wrestling and World Wrestling Federation.

Biography and career Edit

Mower was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. However, she grew up in Glendora, California where she attended Glendora High School. Prior to her stunt and wrestling career, Mower worked as an aerobics instructor. She also studied martial arts, which raised her interest in film fighting and stunt work.

Mower's first stunt roles were in the late-1980s on America's Most Wanted and Baywatch. From 1999 to 2003, Mower was a professional wrestler with Ultimate Pro Wrestling and World Wrestling Federation. During her wrestling appearances, she frequently used the nickname Carnidge. After retiring from wrestling, she has dedicated herself to her career as a stuntwoman and has appeared in many film and TV projects.

Mower's other movie and TV show stunt work includes TV shows like Parks and Recreations (with Nick Offerman), Firefly, Crossing Jordan (with Ravi Kapoor), and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (with Erik Betts, Melissa Barker, Jeff Cadiente, Sophia Crawford and Gregory J. Barnett). She has also worked in films like The Book of Eli (with Sala Baker), Angels and Demons, Collateral (with Jalil Jay Lynch, Will Leong, Jeff Imada and Simon Rhee)

During her career, Mower has doubled for Katee Sackhoff in several occassions in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and the film The Last Sentinel. She has also doubled for actresses like Elisabeth Shue and Meryl Streep. Mower also works as a traveling fitness motivator.

Role on 24 Edit

Mower played the role of a woman briefly taken hostage by Dana Walsh in "Day 8: 11:00am-12:00pm". Mower was originally Katee Sackhoff's double for the season, but Sackhoff ended up having very little trouble with any of her scenes so Mower ended up having to simply supervise just as a precaution. Mower was uncredited for her work on the show.
