Catherine Speakman (born May 18, 1966; age 57) was the supervising ADR editor for 24.

Biography and career[]

Catherine Speakman studied at California State University in Northridge. She completed a degree in German and Psychology in 1985. A year before graduating, Speakman started working as a sound editor. At the age of 18, she was one of the youngest in the field. After graduating, Speakman continued in that field, working for companies like MGM, EFX, and SoundStorm.

From 2004 to 2012, Speakman was president of Wilshire Editorial, a company she founded after the closure of SoundStorm. Through her career, she has worked for shows like Renegade, Party of Five, Shark, Dollhouse, and Friends with Benefits. Speakman has also worked on films like Van Wilder, Eve's Bayou, and LA Confidential, among others.

Supervising ADR editor[]

Speakman worked on the show from the pilot episode up until the final episode of Season 8. She was the supervising editor for Additional Dialogue Recording (ADR); which is the adding of dialogue to a particular scenes in the show when it is unclear in the original recording.

She was not credited for her work on the show, except in the credits of 24: Redemption. However, she was nominated for numerous Emmys throughout the show's run, and won for "Day 4: 12:00pm-1:00pm", "Day 6: 10:00pm-11:00pm" and "Day 8: 4:00am-5:00am".
