The Conference Room was a meeting room located at CTU Los Angeles, centered around a table set to the side of the bullpen. It was used for less secure briefings and for for long range planning, preparation, and business sessions. Since the post-Day 3 revamp, it had a specially designed lighting fixture, a 50-inch plasma screen, and three 20-inch widescreen LCD monitors on the table. It could seat up to 15 participants.

The Conference Room was first introduced to CTU during Day 3, and followed a similar orange design to the rest of CTU Los Angeles. It was used when department heads and analysts needed to be gathered for briefings. It was centered within the bullpen and surrounded by see-though metal sides, suggesting a lack of confidentiality.

After CTU was revamped before Day 4, the Conference Room was given a much more open design, losing the walls altogether, therefore just becoming a table situated to the side of the bullpen. It was overlooked by a large light and several LCD monitors.

[edit] Day 3

The Conference Room on Day 3

During Day 3, Tony Almeida briefed the staff of CTU around the conference table about the Cordilla virus threat. Michelle Dessler also used it after Tony was shot at the mall to inform everyone that she was taking command, and to update them on their objectives.

It was later used by Ryan Chappelle to inform everyone that Jack Bauer had taken Ramon Salazar in a chopper and planned to plan in the middle of downtown Los Angeles to avoid capture. When Tony regained command of CTU and everyone learnt about the sting operation, he informed them of the plan to send Delta teams in to commandeer the virus once Jack helped to secure it.

Adam Kaufman used the conference room at 8:05am to inform CTU analysts of the spread of the Cordilla virus.

[edit] Day 6

Analysts were working around the conference table when Stuart Pressman arrived to collect his brother's body. Chloe O'Brian left the table to greet him, and Nadia Yassir asked Morris to go and see who it was.

[edit] Background information and notes

  • During Day 1 and 2 there did not seem to be a Conference Room, and in fact the Situation Room was often refered to as the Conference Room, despite it clearly being the former. The first clear instance of a difference between the two was seen during Day 3 when a seperate and more open large desk is seen during briefings that are less confidential.
