Dan was President Wayne Palmer's Secret Service head during Day 6.

Dan advised the President to move down to the bunker shortly after the terrorist nuclear attack in Valencia. He explained that the Vice President was following protocol, and the majority of the Joint Chiefs of Staff were waiting for him.

At around 1:15pm Dan informed the President that Hamri Al-Assad had arrived. He then escorted Assad into the Presidential Bunker and was present when Wayne Palmer requested Assad to go on American television to declare peace with the West in the hopes that other extremists such as Assad himself would follow him.

Later in the day, Dan was in the room with President Palmer and Hamri Al-Assad when the bomb planted by Reed Pollock exploded, and was killed attempting to shield the President from the explosion.
