Along with gunner Trent, Dave flew a chopper across the Arizona desert as a back-up unit for Jack Bauer who was protecting the recently-defected IRA member Moira O'Neal from assassination by her former associates.
The chopper came across Bauer and O'Neal on a motorcycle, being shot at by another helicopter. They managed to shoot the other chopper down, but not before taking some fire themselves. Dave managed to land the helicopter safely and transmitted their location to CTU for pick-up.
