Diane Huxley was the single mother of Derek Huxley. She lived in Mojave, California with her son Derek Huxley.

[edit] Before Day 5
Before the events that took place in Day 5, she rented a room to Jack Bauer, who was living in hiding under the name Frank Flynn. She also began a romantic relationship with "Frank," hoping he would be a good father figure to Derek.

When Diane realized that Jack wasn't working, she knocked on his door asking if he wanted to join her and Derek for breakfast. She then noticed Jack watching news coverage on the assassination of President David Palmer. She divulged to Jack about how terrible she felt about Palmer's assassination.
Jack agreed on joining Diane and Derek for breakfast and he ended up getting interrogated by Derek. Derek was asking about Jack's past work life, and ended up getting caught in a lie. Diane apologized for her son's actions, and Jack assured her he understood Derek. Diane then told Jack that the best thing for Derek right now is to have a man around the house.
When Jack got a call, he excused himself from the table, as he had bad service. Diane later got a call from Jack to starting driving to Los Angeles. Jack was in a helicopter with Derek, and Jack had to bring Derek along.
Diane arrived at Los Angeles and was told to go to the Ontario Airport to meet up with Jack and Derek. After being Diane and Derek were reunited, Jack rushed into the airport. When Derek noticed armed men entering the airport, he got out of the car in an attempt to warn Jack. Diane tried to go after him, but security forced her to get back into her car.
When an explosion occurred and terrorists took control of the airport, Diane started to lose control of herself and screamed that she had information for CTU. When Jack overheard Diane when on the phone with Curtis Manning, Diane told him that Derek was in the airport.
When Derek became one of the hostages that the terrorist's planned on killing, Dianne began to lose control and she was placed in a CTU vehicle. Luckily Derek's life was saved when Jack gave himself up. Despite Anton Beresch attempting to manipulate CTU's rescue operation, the operation was a success and the terrorist's were killed.
Curtis then brought Diane and Derek back to CTU at Jack's request, and they were debriefed. When being debriefed by Audrey Raines, Diane began to notice tension when Audrey saw Jack. She later learned that they had a past relationship and Jack still loved her.
Before leaving CTU, Derek and Diane thanked Jack for all of his help, particularly saving Derek from getting killed. Diane then informed Audrey that Jack still had feelings for her.
