Dr. Sunny Macer was a NHS agent during Day 3. She and other doctors discovered a corpse infected with the Cordilla virus, after it was dumped at the NHS HQ in the opening seconds of Day 3, in actuality part of an elaborate ruse orchestrated by Jack Bauer, Tony Almeida and Gael Ortega in order to capture an actual quantity of the virus in the possession of one Michael Amador.
Later, she briefed CTU about the effects of the virus, though her casualty estimates were later proven to be incorrect by Nicole Duncan, who had significantly bleaker outlook about the effects of the virus being released.
Macer had a prior working relationship with Tony Almeida of CTU Los Angeles. She was on a first name basis with Dr. Anne Packard, the personal physician and lover of President David Palmer.
She also went to the Chandler Plaza Hotel to help with the situation there. She revealed to Michelle Dessler that she was clear of the Cordilla virus.
