The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia (MPDC), more commonly known as Metro P.D. or D.C. Police was the primary police force of Washington, D.C.. They often assisted the FBI with their field operations.

MPDC policemen arrested Jack Bauer and Renee Walker after a federal warrant was issued by Sean Hillinger. ("4:00pm-5:00pm")

MPDC officers also assisted in raiding the White House after it was taken over by General Benjamin Juma.

MPDC policemen responded to 2700 Eastbrook when a neighbor called police with a noise complaint after Tony Almeida and his accomplices broke in. ("4:00am-5:00am")

Shortly before Day 10, the MPDC seized millions of dollars in drug money at a drug bust in Southeast, Washington, D.C..

MPDC policemen responded to the Washington Union Station train yard where Eric Carter had killed several of Ibrahim Bin-Khalid's terrorists in a gun battle. ("12:00pm-1:00pm")

MPDC policemen attempted to arrest Eric Carter at 3rd and Decatur for "vagrancy". However, due to his special operations training, Carter was able to overpower and disarm both officers. In need of money to prevent Ben Grimes from selling information to terrorists, Carter strapped bombs to them and demanded they take him to an MPDC station where millions of dollars in drug money was being held as evidence. ("1:00pm-2:00pm")

MPDC policemen responded to the Southeast, D.C. housing project where Nicole was staying after shots were heard fired. They arrested Nicole but let her go after Isaac bribed them. ("3:00pm-4:00pm")

After Jadalla Bin-Khalid was broken out of the CTU headquarters by terrorists, the MPDC set up roadblocks nearby at the behest of CTU. Three officers were shot by the terrorists as they broke through the checkpoint with a kidnapped John Donovan in tow. ("8:00pm-9:00pm")
