Gil Bellows (born June 28, 1967; age 56) played Frank Trammell in 24: Redemption.

Biography and career[]

Gil Bellows was born in Vancouver, Canada, and attended Magee Secondary School. After graduation, he pursued a career in acting, studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, California.

Bellows is well known for his role as the young, bumbling thief Tommy in The Shawshank Redemption, in which he appeared with fellow 24-stars Jude Ciccolella, Mark Rolston, Bob Gunton, and Paul McCrane. Other films in which he has appeared are Love and a .45 (with Rory Cochrane), The Weather Man, House at the End of the Street, and Kill the Messenger.

Bellows was also a series regular on the show Ally McBeal, along with his Redemption co-star Peter MacNicol. He also had recurring roles in FlashForward (with Michael Massee) and The Agency. In 2014, Bellows played a significant role in the mini-series Ascension (with Wendy Crewson and Al Sapienza).
