Lana Maria Parrilla (born July 15, 1977; age 46) played Sarah Gavin during Season 4 of 24.

Biography[]

Lana Parrilla was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her father was a professional baseball player from Puerto Rico, and her mother was an American painter of Sicilian descent. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

Early in her career, Parrilla had roles in a few movies including the Matthew Modine-Martin Landau flick Very Mean Men (2000), and the lead role in Spiders (2000). She also starred on One Last Ride together with Tony Lee.

Parrilla became noticed in the mainstream when she joined the cast of Spin City in 2000, playing Angie Ordonez for one season. After this, she joined the 2002 series Boomtown, but the show was canceled just two episodes into its second season. During the show, she shared the screen with Brian Goodman for an episode.

Other shows in which Parrilla has guest-starred are JAG (with Anthony Azizi), NYPD Blue (with Stephen DuVall and Esai Morales), Six Feet Under (with James Cromwell and Sprague Grayden), The Shield (with Benito Martinez), Windfall (with Sarah Wynter), and Miami Medical (with Chuti Tiu).

In May 2007, Lana Parilla appeared on Lost as Greta, one of two women stationed at the Looking Glass station. She was stationed there with another woman called Bonnie, who was played by 24 Season 2 alum Tracy Middendorf.

From 2011 to 2018, Parrilla starred in the ABC series Once Upon a Time, adapted from classic children's fairy tales. The show also features Robert Carlyle and Raphael Sbarge.

Role on 24[]

Parrilla played the role of Sarah Gavin during Season 4 of 24. Gavin was an intelligence agent at CTU Los Angeles. Parrilla began the season credited as a guest star, but after just six episodes, she was promoted to a main cast member. However, in the thirteenth episode, she was written out of the series when her character demanded a promotion from temporary head Michelle Dessler, which led to her being dismissed. Parrilla appeared in a total of 12 episodes.
