Fredericks was guarding the entrance to the holding room where Cole Ortiz was being held. At around 12:20pm, Chloe O'Brian approached him and told him that, since McDermott had been injured in the EMP blast, he had to collect the night shift cards and take them to her office. Fredericks hesitated, but Chloe told him she wanted it done now. Fredericks then hurried to do it, allowing Chloe to sneak into Cole's holding cell.
