After Jack Bauer tricked Warden Kevin Mitchell, he attempted to escape unnoticed with Ramon Salazar from the prison. He approached Daniel to retrieve his sidearm and badge, and chatted with him idly. Suddenly, however, the alarm was tripped from another part of the prison by Mitchell, so Jack interrupted the check-out process with Daniel and slugged a nearby guard to the ground to flee.
