Charles "Chuck" Tamburro (born 1946) is a stuntman and actor who flew helicopters for 24. He and his brother John Tamburro worked on all the seasons of the show, and Chuck appeared as a CTU chopper pilot in many episodes. He also doubled as Duman during Season 4.
Biography and career[]
Tamburro is a veteran of the stunt industry, having appeared in over 100 film and TV projects. He has worked in such action classics and blockbusters like Smokey and the Bandit, First Blood, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon 2, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Rock, Thor, and Furious 7.
During the last decades, Tamburro has worked more frequently on TV shows. He has worked as an aerial coordinator in shows like NCIS, Lost, The Unit, Criminal Minds, and Banshee.
Role on 24[]
Chuck and his brother John Tamburro worked on all the seasons of 24 as helicopter pilots. Aside of that, Chuck also performed various roles during the show:
- He appeared as CTU chopper pilot Johnson in many episodes.
- In "Day 3: 5:00am-6:00am", he played the pilot of the chopper that attacked the MI6 office. This character reappeared in "10:00am-11:00am", flying Stephen Saunders's getaway chopper.
- He also doubled as Duman in "Day 4: 12:00pm-1:00pm", who was shot on the raised area of the compound by the marines.
- He played the pilot of the Dawn Brigade helicopter shot down by Jack Bauer in "Day 5: 3:00pm-4:00pm" after its gunners shot at James Nathanson.
- In "Day 8: 11:00pm-12:00am", he re-appeared as a CTU chopper pilot (after Johnson's death).
