Halil was a member of Abu Fayed's terrorist cell during the events of Day 6.

Though Fayed's engineer Hasan Numair detonated a suitcase nuke in Valencia and killed over 12,000 people, the intended attacks for the day were unsuccessful. The bomb was never meant to detonate in Valencia, and Fayed also had to leave one behind earlier in the day in order to escape from CTU. An attack on the city of San Francisco was also unsuccessful.

Halil expressed his concerns with Fayed, as he felt the reason why these attacks had been so unsuccessful was because of Dmitri Gredenko, a Russian general who helped supply Fayed with the nukes and intelligence on the targets. Halil suggested that they should just detonate the bombs and disregard Gredenko's intel. Fayed insisted that they needed Gredenko, as his information would help kill over half of California's population. Halil stayed with the nuclear bombs when Fayed left with Hasim and Hasan.

At 10:55pm, Fayed returned to Halil after Gredenko, Hasan, and Hasim were killed. He planned to detonate both bombs in downtown Los Angeles in a last-ditch effort to make use of his arsenal, as Halil had recommended. However, Halil was among the six subordinates of Fayed killed shortly thereafter by Jack Bauer, who had covertly followed Fayed to his safehouse.
