Hendrix was the chief of the Los Angeles Police Department during Day 3.

President David Palmer had his brother Wayne contact Chief Hendrix for a personal meeting. When Hendrix arrived, he updated the President on the investigation (led by Detective Norris) of the death of Alan Milliken. Palmer chose to lie to Hendrix by telling him that his ex-wife Sherry Palmer was with him all night, when in fact she had been with Alan and prevented him from taking his heart medication. Hendrix left, satisfied, but was still unsure as to why Julia Milliken incriminated Sherry.
