Highway 236 was a highway near Washington, D.C..
After Jack Bauer took control of the truck with Starkwood's chemical weapon, he drove down Highway 236. Eventually, he noticed a beeping sound from the back of the truck and heard a hissing sound. When he got down, he noticed a huge gash on the side of the truck and realized one of the weapon canisters was breached. He was shocked as he saw traffic on the distance and, holding his breath, got in the truck to seal the canister. As he got out, Stokes and his men intercepted him and attacked him. He sought cover on a nearby crevice while the Starkwood mercenaries took the weapon on a helicopter. ("Day 7: 10:00pm-11:00pm")
After they left, Jack contacted Larry Moss and informed him of the situation. Larry then sent CDC teams to meet with Jack on his location. At around 11:00pm, CDC teams led by Dr. Sunny Macer set up a perimeter on the location of the truck closing a six-mile stretch of the Highway. They performed tests on the area and found residue of the pathogen in the air, but not enough to affect the population. Jack, however, was infected while sealing the breached canister.
