The introduction to Season One is a special feature found on the Season One DVD. It is also found on the special edition of the Season One DVD, and plays when the first disc is inserted.

The short video begins with Kiefer Sutherland giving a short explanation of the show, and about how his character was a "father, husband and government agent, constantly trying to do the right thing, but not always having the means to do it". He then began to talk about how Season 1 was praised for its real-time format, which made things as simple as driving a car across town a major problem. He goes on to say that this added to the intrigue of the show, making it very different from anything else at the time.

He also explained to expect "more" in the second season; more conflict, more suspense, and more of the unexpected.
