James McCauley (born June 22, 1966; age 51) played officer Bill Dotson during Season 4 of 24.

Biography and career Edit

James McCauley was born in Roswell, New Mexico. His father was a pilot in the Air Force and his mother was an English teacher. After McCauley's father left the military, the family moved to Connecticut where Jim went to high school. After that, he attended SUNY at Purchase.

McCauley started his acting career in 1990, appearing in the film Fear. After that, he has appeared in films like Kiss of Death, The Juror, Donnie Brasco (with Michael Madsen, Željko Ivanek, and Zach Grenier), The Jackal (with Stephen Spinella), I Am Legend, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (with Colm Feore).

Aside of films, McCauley has appeared in TV shows like True Blood (with Kevin Alejandro), Criminal Minds (with Jayne Atkinson), ER (with Leland Orser and Sara Gilbert), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Third Watch (with Kim Raver).
