Biography and career[]
Jane Park Smith was born in Seoul, South Korea and immigrated to the US when she was 2 years old. She is the youngest in a family of four. Park graduated from UCLA where she completed a major in Communication Studies. Her family settled in Southern California and they own a restaurant called Maru Sushi & Restaurant in Valencia.
Park was a real news reporter in Florida and has acted several such roles in addition to her 24 part. Although she started her acting career in 2001, Park is also known from beauty pageants. From 1994 to 1995, she was Miss Asian America. In October 20, 2007, Park was crowned Ms. America. She served as a spokesperson for the Katrina Family Relocation Project and was a supporter of the Global Volunteer Network. Park received the Presidential Service Award for her charitable work.
Aside of her activism, Park has continued acting. She has appeared in films like Insurgent, Quarantine (with Rade Šerbedžija), and Out the Gate. Park has also appeared in TV shows like Journeyman (with Reed Diamond and Don McManus), Bones (with T.J. Thyne), The Cape (with James Frain), Rizzoli & Isles (with Ever Carradine), and Gang Related (with Rey Gallegos).
Park's other endeavors include writing, wellness, and martial arts. In 2012, she published a book titled Rocky the Rescue, and donates 90% of the proceeds to animal rescue charities. Park is also a certified Health Minister and wellness coach with Hallelujah Acres Lifestyle Centers. She is also a black belt in Taekwondo and Mixed Martial Arts.
Park lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Jonathan Lee Smith.
