Jeffrey R. Whitcher (born February 11, 1966; age 58) was a sound editor on 24.

Biography and career[]

Jeff Whitcher was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Brophy College Preparatory in his hometown. After that, Whitcher went to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. In 1989, he completed a Bachelor's degree in Communication Arts.

Whitcher has worked in the industry since 1990, on various duties in the sound department. Aside of 24, he has worked on shows like Babylon 5, The Guardian, and Profiler. He also worked on the pilot episode of Homeland, which was developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa. The episode featured performances by 24 alums Diego Klattenhoff, Nestor Serrano and Navid Negahban.

Whitcher has also worked on films like Soul Survivors, Woman on Top, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Leprechaun, and many others. He is also an accomplished musician and song writer.

Whitcher worked as a sound editor for all episodes of 24, from Seasons 1 to 8. He also worked on 24: Redemption. Additionally, he handled the sound design and sound editing for the mini series 24: Live Another Day.
