John P. Prosky (born 1962) played George Ferragamo during Season 1 of 24.

Biography and career[]

John Prosky is the son of Polish-American actor and comedian Robert Prosky and antrhopologist Ida Prosky. His brother, Andy, is also an actor. John studied at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers where he completed a Bachelor's degree in Theater. After that, he completed a Master's degree in Acting and Directing from California State University at Long Beach. Prosky has been working as an actor since 1985.

Through his career, Prosky has appeared in films like Interceptor (with Jurgen Prochnow), The Phantom, The Nutty Professor, Fire Down Below, Permanent Midnight (with Spencer Garrett, Lourdes Benedicto, and Janeane Garofalo), Bowfinger, Hulk, Hidalgo, The Devil Inside, and Straight Outta Compton. He also appeared as the bellman in the film A.I.: Artificial Intelligence.

In television, Prosky has had recurring roles in shows like Chicago Hope, The Practice, ER, Medium (with Jude Ciccolella), True Blood (with Kevin Alejandro), and Scandal (with Darby Stanchfield). In 2013, he appeared in three episodes of Fox's Touch, which starred Kiefer Sutherland. The episodes he appeared in were directed by Nelson McCormick and Milan Cheylov, and also featured Lukas Haas, Greg Ellis, Leland Orser, and D.B. Sweeney. In 2014, Prosky appeared in the pilot of Fox's Tyrant, which was developed by Howard Gordon. The show also starred Moran Atias.

Prosky is also a prolific theatre actor. He has also taught acting and Shakespeare to college students, low-income teenagers, and prisoners. He was the head of the educational outreach program at Antaeus where he co-founded the Odyssey Artists Workshop.
