Dr. Joyner was a doctor at a Los Angeles urgent care facility during Day 3.

On the advice of a pharmacist, Bill Cole went to get his persistent bloody nose cauterized at an ER. There, Cole was given paperwork by a nurse; as he was writing, he saw a news report from the Chandler Plaza Hotel, and realized he was actually suffering from the outbreak that occurred there. He shouted this to the nurse, who notified Dr. Joyner. The doctor may have been quarantined with the others because of his proximity to Cole.
