This is a description of Kim Bauer's actions on Day 1.

Shortly after midnight, Kim was playing chess with her father Jack. When Kim insulted her mother Teri, Jack busted her for it and told her to go to bed. Teri and Jack later decided to talk to Kim together and discovered that Kim snuck out of the house. She met up with Janet and spent an hour at Paladio Furniture partying with two college guys, Rick Allen and Dan Mounts.

While Janet became comfortable with Dan, Kim started to connect with Rick Allen. Kim tells Rick that her father is dead, and Janet later becomes too drunk to drive. The guys decide to take the girls into their van and they offer to bring Kim home. When Dan refuses to bring Kim home, she realized she is in grave danger. She then revealed that her father is a federal agent, but Dan believed it was a bluff.

After Kim learns that Dan and Rick were hired to kidnap her and Janet, she tried to talk herself out of the situation. Dan told her to call her mother, but Kim refused. When Dan smashed Janet's arm with a crowbar, Kim called her mother and told her she was at a party. When Kim told her mother that she loved her, Teri became suspicious that she might be in some sort of danger, as Kim never says that. While Dan and Rick are distracted, Kim attempted to escape with the injured and drunken Janet.

After Janet and Kim escape, Rick and Dan realized they were gone and they started to chase after them. With help from a male prostitute, Kim and Janet are able to escape from Rick and Dan's path. After getting to a phone, Kim calls her mother and tells her where she is. However, while crossing the street, Janet is hit by a car and the driver fleed the scene. Kim tried to help Janet, but Rick and Dan grabbed her and drove away.

Dan and Rick tie Kim up and put her in the back of the van. A hysterical Kim pleed for them to go back and save Janet's life. After Dan realized Janet could identify him and Rick, he decided to go back to the alley and kill Janet. Rick took a gun and put his hand out of the window, preparing to shot Janet, but paramedics arrived to bring Janet to the hospital. Dan and Rick then dropped Kim off to Ira Gaines, and they claimed they were forced to kill Janet and the body won't be found.

Gaines put Kim in the back seat of his car, but he is forced to put her in the trunk when she tried to cause a scene. Gaines arrived at his compound and Dan and Rick were behind him. Disappointed in Dan's recent actions, Gaines shoots and kills him. He told Rick that he had been promoted and his first task is to bury Dan's body. Kim helped Rick bury Dan's body, and she tried to convince Rick to help her escape from the compound. Kim soon realized that Dan is a great guy and just got mixed up in a mess.

Gaines later has Kim brought to him and he gives her the phone, so she can talk to her father. Kim soon becomes convinced that her kidnapping has nothing to do with money, and she becomes confident that her father will come and rescue her. Kim and Rick later try to escape, but Eli Stram walked in on them. Rick threw himself on top of Kim, to make it look like he was attempting to rape her. As they make their break for freedom, Kim decides to stay at the compound when her mother is brought there.

Kim and Teri had an emotional reunion, and Kim was convinced that they are going to be killed, while Teri reassures them that they will be saved. Kim and Teri are eventually dragged out of the shack and taken outside. Gaines' men were preparing to execute them, by shooting them in the back of the head, but Teri and Kim tried to retaliate. Their efforts failed and Eli was getting ready to kill them, before Gaines called and told him they needed to be kept alive. Eli brought Kim and Teri back to the shack.

Eli later comes to the shack and attempted to sexually assault Kim and rape her. Teri luckily managed to convince Eli to rape her instead, as she wouldn't fight it off. Eli took Teri into another room and locked the door. Kim was horrified at the fact that her mother was getting raped. Rick later enters the shack and gives Kim and Teri a cell phone, which he stole from Eli. Kim keeps look-out, while Teri uses the phone and comes into contact with Nina Myers from CTU Los Angeles. Luckily Nina was able to patch Teri through to Jack's cell phone.

Jack told Teri that he was working on rescuing them and he needed Teri to keep the line in use, in order for CTU to do a back trace and find their location. Kim later confronts her mother and she asked her why Teri seperated from Jack six months prior. Teri explained to Kim that Jack's work created wedges in the relationship. Teri told Kim that she and Jack decided to put these wedges behind them and work out these issues, as they loved each other.

Shortly after 10am, Kim starts to lose her consciousness and begins to feel tired. Teri urged her daughter to stay awake, as they will be rescued in any given time. When Eli discovers that Teri and Kim had his cell phone, Rick takes a beating in order to protect them. This upsets Kim and Rick later comes back into the shack, and hands Teri a gun. When Gaines orders for Eli to kill the women, he enters the shed and Teri pulls the gun on him. Teri realized the gun was empty and Eli begins to attack Kim. Teri then takes Eli's gun and shoots and kills him. They bury the body inside the hay, hoping Gaines won't realize Eli hasn't killed them.

Kim and Teri are relieved when Jack enters the shack, but Jack assaults Rick. Teri and Kim are able to convince Jack that Rick is the only reason why they are alive. After Rick tells Jack he can get access to a van, Jack decides to stay with his family, while Rick gets the van. Rick arrives with the van and Jack drives away, but Gaines' men became aware of Jack's presence.

Eventually the van crashes and Jack fights Gaines and his men off. Jack gives Teri a PDA and tells her to take Kim to the water tower, while he and Rick cover them. While in the woods, Kim and Teri hear an explosion and don't know if Jack and Rick made it out all right. When looking for the water tower, Kim and Teri decide to go another way, in order to avoid running into Gaines or his men. They end up getting lost and thanks to Jack, they are saved from getting killed.

Kim becomes worried for Rick's safety and she became emotional when she realized Rick wasn't at the water tower. Jack realized Rick must of left in order to avoid any kidnapping charges. Jack sends his family to meet with the CTU helicopter, while he finished off Gaines. After Jack finished Gaines off, who was killed after he attempted to shot Jack, he reunited with Kim and Teri in the helicopter.

Jack is forced to go back to CTU and he has his family brought to a medical clinic, in order for them to get checked out. Kim urged her mother to tell the doctors about her rape, but Teri insisted on keeping the trauma a secret for the time being. When Nina suspected that Teri and Kim's lives might still be in possible danger, she has them moved to a CTU safehouse. Jack personally asks for Nina to stay with Teri and Kim, as she is the only one he can trust.

Kim later discovered that her mother is pregnant and she was eager for her father to learn about it, but Teri decided to hold off on telling him right away. Kim is then interviewed by Nina, after Teri decided to take a break. Nina asked questions about Rick and where he was, and Kim continued to support Rick and claimed he had no involvement in her and Teri's kidnappings. When Nina isn't watching her, Kim managed to get a hold of a cell phone and she called Rick.

Nina eventually left the safehouse and Ted Paulson came to the safehouse, to finish Teri and Kim's debriefing. When Paulson asks about Eli Stram, Kim created a cover for her mother. When Jeff Breeher is killed, Paulson became aware that there was an assassin inside the house. He held off Jovan Myovic, while Kim and Teri escaped to the garage. Paulson ended up getting killed, while Teri and Kim drove away.

Jovan chased after Kim and Teri and they ended up in the hills. When it became clear that they may of lost him, Teri pulled over and left the car, telling Kim to stay in it. As Teri left, the car fell over the hill and exploded. Kim managed to escape from the car and survive the explosion, but she couldn't find her mother anywhere. Kim decided to get to a phone and call for some help.

Kim called CTU and came into contact with Tony Almeida. When Tony asked for Kim's location, in order for him to send a car to pick her up, Kim refuses. She couldn't trust Tony and she asked to speak with Nina. When Tony told her Nina wasn't there, she hung up the phone and called Rick. Kim told Rick that she believed her mother was re-captured and Dan might have something in his room that can lead her to Teri. When Kim demanded to go over to his house, Rick was forced to give up his address.

Kim arrived at Rick's home and when she wasn't able to pay the cab fee, Rick decided to take care of it. Rick's girlfriend Melanie became jealous of Kim, but Kim assured Melanie she doesn't needed to look through Dan's possessions. When Kim realized that nothing useful was at the house, she decided to leave and meet at the park her mother told her to go to in case of an emergency.

Rick gave Kim some money and they shared a passionate kiss, but are interrupted by Frank Allard, Dan's brother. Frank asked where Dan was and Rick told him he never came back. Frank was planning on buy drugs with the money Dan received for the kidnapping. When Kim insisted on leaving, Frank orders for her to stay. Kim then lectures Rick on changing his life around, while he only hoped to get through the next few hours alive.

With no hope of leaving Rick's place, Kim broke the news to Frank that Dan was dead. Horrified over his brother's death, Frank realized that he wouldn't be able to go forward with the drug deal without any money. Frank called up some close friends and told them to bring weapons over to his house. He planned on getting the drugs by robbing the dealers, by threatening to kill them. When the dealers arrive, Frank and his men pulled guns out on Krugman and his posse. Krugman later took control of the situation, as he was a undercover cop. Despite pleas of innocence, Kim was arrested with Frank, Rick, and Melanie.

With no other way of getting out of the situation, Kim and Rick both agreed on telling the cops about the day's events. When Kim tells Krugman what happened to her, he doesn't believe her, due to the fact that Melanie told him Kim was a liar. Kim was brought back to a holding cell, sharing the cell with Melanie and a number of other female characters.

After putting Melanie in her place, other cell mates try to pick on Melanie and Kim ends up sticking up for her. After she realized Kim is a decent person, Melanie decided to speak with Krugman and tell him that Kim was telling the truth. After he confirmed everything with CTU, Krugman released Kim and told her he would be taking her back to CTU. On her way to CTU, Kim comes into contact with her mother. Kim learns that Teri is at CTU waiting for her and she looks forward to seeing her.

While at a stop light, the police car is ambushed and Krugman is killed by terrorists. Kim is dragged out of the car and duct tape is spread over her mouth. She is held in a basement and is grateful to see her father, who is being held hostage by Andre Drazen and Victor Drazen. CTU is able to get Jack released by giving up Alexis Drazen, but they refuse to release Kim. The Drazens tell Jack they will release her after Jack brings a phone to Senator David Palmer.

Kim is held in a warehouse by the Drazens, and she overhears a conversation between Victor and Senator Palmer. When she hears an explosion, she fears that her father and Palmer have been killed. When Andre tells Kim that Jack was responsible for his sister and mother's death, Kim is convinced her father would never harm innocent people. With no hopes of making it out alive, Kim tries to escape from the warehouse.

After throwing coffee on her guard, Kim runs out onto the port and she loosened the ropes around her wrists. When the Drazens spotted her, Kim jumped into the lake in order to escape. The Drazens' men are unable to find her and Kim hid under the dock. When the men leave, Kim got back on safe grounds and she hauled down a truck. Kim notified CTU of the situation and the danger Jack was in.

Kim was brought back to CTU, but she wasn't able to find her mother. After Jack killed the Drazens, he learned that Nina was working with them, as Nina told Jack Kim drowned and her body was picked up by the coast guard. Jack and Kim later search the building for Teri. Jack is horrified when he finds Teri dead in one of the rooms.
