Simon Cullens privately owned a King Air plane, and once Edmunds had extracted the location of Hector Salazar from him, Cullens let Chase borrow the plane. Chase used it to fly to Las Nieves in Mexico, landing on a small strip where Rafael Gutierrez was waiting for him. Gutierrez searched the plane, found it empty, then was ambushed by Chase.
