Jack Bauer said that he wanted either Knoll or Grothy to be the one to pick up his daughter and take her safely away from Los Angeles after he learnt of the nuclear bomb threat ("Day 2: 8:00am-9:00am"). Grothy was the one chosen to go and get her ("Day 2: 9:00am-10:00am").
