Lawrence was one of the three guards at the Class Three Detention Center in Saugus which was run by the Department of Defense.

Lawrence worked for Mark DeSalvo, the warden of the prison, and along with Ray, helped Jack Bauer try to fend off the Serbian militants inside the facility. Lawrence took part in the transfer of Victor Drazen. Andre Drazen sought to break his father Victor out of this prison, but had to develop a contingency plan when the man he paid off to cut the power, Alan Morgan, was slain by Teddy Hanlin.

After Bauer's interrogation of Drazen, DeSalvo decided to move his to another location. Before they could get Victor out, Andre and his mercenary accomplice Harris had the power cut, and the staff was trapped in the dark facility with the Serbs advancing. DeSalvo, Bauer, Drazen and the other four staff members took cover inside a room while Lawrence and Ray were trapped outside. Lawrence was killed along with DeSalvo and the rest of staff before Bauer was taken hostage by Andre.
