Lincoln was a former President of the United States. The Lincoln Bedroom at the White House was named after him.

During Day 2, President David Palmer, facing a possible war with three countries in the Middle East, quoted Lincoln to his White House Chief of Staff Mike Novick: "I do not claim to have control of events, but confess plainly that events have control of me."

"Lincoln" refers to Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. He was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth (to whom Charles Logan compared Jack Bauer to during Day 5) on April 15, 1865.
