Howard Gordon is an American script writer and executive producer that served as showrunner of 24 since 2006 until its final season. Before 2006, Gordon had written several episodes of Season 1 and 2, and also crafted the entire story arcs for Season 3 and 4. Before working in 24, Gordon had worked in renowned shows like The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel. After the final season of 24, he has continued his success working as executive producer and writer of the critically acclaimed show Homeland.

• Fox announces 24: Live Another Day, a twelve-episode 24 miniseries that will air in May of 2014.

• Coinciding with the cancellation of Kiefer Sutherland's series Touch, Deadline reports that Fox is planning a limited-run 24 series, with Sutherland and executive producers Howard Gordon and David Fury in talks to return.

• Filming of 24 the movie has been delayed, apparently due to budget concerns. The film is now set for release sometime in 2013 and may be the first in a possible trilogy. The largest point of contention for the production is the budget, which Fox wants capped at around $30 million, while producer Brian Grazer and Kiefer Sutherland believe the film will require a budget slightly above $40 million. Reports also state that Sutherland's salary was a major point of negotiation.

• An Indian version of 24 is set to be produced, with Anil Kapoor (who played President Omar Hassan in Season 8) playing the role of Jack Bauer. Kapoor closed a rights deal with 20th Century Fox TV Distribution and will produce the new 24 through his Anil Kapoor Films Company. Pre-production is set to begin mid-2012 in India. “It will be a great honor for me to play Jack Bauer,” Kapoor said. “Kiefer has created an iconic character which has inspired me to bring the franchise to India. This will be my first foray to Indian television and I look forward to duplicating the standard of excellence Fox has so successfully created.”
