After the detonation of Second Wave's nuclear weapon in the Mojave Desert, a number of riots broke out against Islamic Americans in various locations throughout the country. Marietta received the most news coverage: one field reporter from FOX News gave a preliminary report concerning the increasing violence, and another reporter interviewed the racist mob leader.
To maintain order, President David Palmer ordered the National Guard in Georgia to Marietta. Lynne Kresge later informed Palmer that two people were subsequently killed by rubber bullets, a rioter leader and a young boy. It was not specified if the rioter that was killed was the same leader who spoke on national television. ("Day 2: 1:00am-2:00am")
