Mark Sheppard (born May 30, 1964; age 52) played the recurring role of Ivan Erwich during Season 5 of 24.

Biography and career Edit

Sheppard was born in London, England to actor W. Morgan Sheppard. When he was 15 years old, he became a professional musician. Sheppard recorded and toured with many bands like Robyn Hitchcock, the Television Personalities, and Light a Big Fire. He also worked as a session musician for many recordings.

Sheppard has had recurring roles on shows like Doctor Who, Soldiers of Fortune, Inc., Battlestar Galactica, Bionic Woman (both with Katee Sackhoff), Firefly (with Benito Martinez), Leverage (with Christian Kane), Supernatural (with Misha Collins), Warehouse 13, Chuck and Dollhouse (with Harry Lennix).

He has also made appearances on hit shows like The X-Files, Burn Notice (with Mandy June Turpin), The Practice, JAG (with Steven Culp), CSI, Las Vegas, Medium, NCIS (with Pauley Perrette), and In Plain Sight.

Movie roles included films such as 1999's Out of the Cold (with Mia Kirshner), 2004's Unstoppable and 2006's Broken.

Role on 24 Edit

Sheppard played the role of terrorist Ivan Erwich during Season 5. He appeared in a total of six episodes, and was credited as a guest star. For his first appearance, he was simply credited as "Yellow Tie Man" for the distinctive tie his character wore, which was also the way Jack Bauer spotted him and described him.
