Maureen Kingsley was a newsreporter who worked for Late Night News on the CNB News channel.

Before Day 1[]

Maureen came across information implicating Keith Palmer in the death of Lyle Gibson, the rapist of Nicole Palmer, shortly before Day 1.

Day 1[]

Maureen called David Palmer up shortly after midnight to get a response to her allegations. Palmer became furious and abruptly ended the conversation. He later met with her in a conference room to discuss the call, and Maureen showed him her evidence which was a piece of paper Keith had signed at the hospital an hour after Gibson was killed. He had used the alias Edward Johnson but Maureen hired an expert to analyze the handwriting. David Palmer, knowing nothing of the incident and believing this to be false, insisted she not go forward with the story. However, on discovering her facts to be true, and upon learning of the subsequent cover-up, he decided to go forward with the story. ("4:00am-5:00am")

Maureen was bribed by Sherry Palmer not to go through with her information with a promise Sherry would leak information about the cover-up incident at the breakfast. Maureen later withdrew her story upon receiving threats from Carl Webb and the Latham Group. David entered her room at the hotel to discuss the situation once again and wanted to tell the story but Maureen refused. David thought she had been paid off but offered protection for her when he knew she was threatened. Maureen told him she had already protected herself by leaving the network and that he should leave it alone. ("9:00am-10:00am", "12:00pm-1:00pm")

Memorable quotes[]

  • Maureen Kingsley: The part where he filled in the information and signed his name? I had it analyzed by an expert. It's your son's. ("Day 1: 4:00am-5:00am")
