Melinda Kale was a translator brought in to Norton Airfield by CTU during Day 2.

The Second Wave terrorist Omar attempted to fly a plane out of Norton Airfield but was stopped by Jack Bauer and CTU. He was willing to talk despite his anguish, but Melinda, the official translator, had not yet arrived. Kate Warner, who knew a different dialect, translated for awhile until Melinda entered. When she asked Omar about the location of the real nuclear weapon, Omar knew nothing. Jack left Melinda to continue speaking with Omar.
