Nicole Palmer was the daughter of David Palmer and Sherry Palmer, and the younger sister of Keith Palmer.

[edit] Before Day 1

Back in high school, Nicole had made friends with two sisters, Rachel and Suzy Brenner. They stayed in contact with each other after high school.

Seven years before Day 1, Nicole was raped by Lyle Gibson. When Keith confronted Gibson, he pulled a knife on Keith but ended up dead in the struggle.

On Day 1, Keith and Nicole arrive from a campaign rally for their father. Nicole tells him that her friends, Rachel and Suzy had called her saying they were headed out to visit her family during her father's victory speech that evening.

When information about Keith's involvement in Gibson's death start to surface, Nicole is worried that he might go to jail. When Keith told her he was talking with Carl Webb about the situation, she helped him escape Secret Service surveillance by distracting an agent.

In the afternoon, David Palmer decided to have a press conference to tell the truth about Nicole's rape. Later, while having dinner, she started hyperventilating in the midst of a family argument between her parents and Keith. David put her on a couch until she got better.

After the press conference, she told her father how relieved she felt for not having to keep a secret anymore.
