Nigel Whitmey (born February 23, 1963; age 55) is a Canadian-born British actor who played Major Shepherd in 24: Live Another Day.

Born in Alberta, Canada to emigres from Liverpool, England, Whitmey attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in the mid-1980s and has acted primarily in British productions. One of his earliest TV roles was in Stephen Fry's sketch comedy series Jeeves & Wooster (1993). Whitmey's film appearances include roles in Saving Private Ryan (1998, with Max Martini and Leland Orser), The Fifth Estate (2013, with Alexander Siddig) and London Has Fallen (2016, with Colin Salmon, Gary Arthurs and Justin Pearson).
