Pacific Standard Time is 8 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time. For example, if it were 8:00pm GMT, it would be 12:00pm PST. It is also 3 hours behind Eastern Standard Time, meaning that if it were 12:00pm PST, it would be 3:00pm EST.

The entire state of California, including Los Angeles, is located in Pacific Standard Time. To date, the time on 24 has been given almost exclusively in Pacific Standard Time, with two exceptions - Season 1 and Season 2 opened their season premieres with brief scenes set in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Seoul, South Korea respectively, both using local time in place of Pacific Standard Time.

In Season 6 some of the action takes place in Washington, DC where President Wayne Palmer operates from, but the time shown is still PST.
