Agent Patterson was one of five Secret Service personel on Air Force One during Day 4.

After Air Force One was shot down by Mitch Anderson in a stolen F-117A stealth fighter jet, Jack Bauer contacted a com-sat operator from CTU Los Angeles and sent out a message that reached all five AF1 Secret Service agents. Agent Patterson, operating on channel 3, was the only one to respond. Though he could see some survivors, he could not confirm if President John Keeler survived the crash. After speaking with Jack, Patterson was not heard from again, and it is not known if he survived his injuries.
