Paula grew up in Los Angeles and was recruited into CTU Los Angeles by Tony Almeida.

Paula worked as a systems analyst at CTU Los Angeles at the beginning of Day 2. Upon hearing of the nuclear threat, she wanted to leave her post.
Paula was severely injured in the bombing a few minutes later. George Mason ordered the paramedic who was tending her to bring her to consciousness to the dismay of Tony and Michelle. Mason needed the encryption code that protected the nuclear threat intel on NSA's servers. After a time the paramedic made her lucid, and she gave the code with some difficulty. As George complimented her, she smiled and passed out again. The medics rushed her off for surgery, but she quickly flatlined and passed away.
