Peter James Smith was born in a United States Air Force base in Taipei, Taiwan. However, he moved to the US when he was one year old.
Smith began his professional career in 1994, appearing in an episode of Silk Stalkings. After that, he has appeared in shows like ER (with Eriq La Salle), The Beast (with Ian Paul Cassidy and Wendy Crewson), Spin City, The Division, The Unit (with Dennis Haysbert, Max Martini, Michael Irby, and Dylan Kenin), and Castle (with Stana Katic).
