Peter Jiminez was a young CTU agent who had served in the Diplomatic Security Service and Central Intelligence Agency before coming to CTU. He was considered "wet behind the ears" and "hero-worshiped" Jack Bauer. It was possibly that he was one of the three agents implicated by Jack Bauer's Internal Affairs investigation along with Seth Campbell and Chris Henderson.

Jiminez worked mainly for Christopher Henderson and did smaller tasks such as prisoner transport opposed to Agents Tony Almeida and Nina Myers. It turned out that he and Henderson were trying to kill Jack Bauer because they were responsible for misappropriated funds that Jack Bauer was to report to Internal Affairs. He finally shot Bauer at the Staples Center, but it was not fatal and Jack managed to kill him.
